Confirmed club activities – 2nd and 3rd July 2016

Please see below confirmation of this weekend’s rides.

We have leaders for all rides this weekend except for the Saturday B ride and Sunday D ride. Thank you to everyone who has stepped forward to lead rides. Rides without leaders have been cancelled from the calendar*.

If you normally take part in a ride that has removed from the calendar there are three options for you to ride with the club:

  • Come to the station and drop down to the next ride in the calendar (unless you were planning to ride the D ride), e.g. A=> B, B=>C, etc… If you drop down a ride, then you should ride at the slower pace of that ride so as not to disrupt the pace of the ride you are joining. Other members are joining rides which have leaders, are expecting to ride at the pace they are comfortable with and it is unreasonable for them to have to change their plans
  • You can step-up to the next ride in the calendar (unless you were planning to ride the A ride), e.g. from C=>B, B=>A, etc… In this case you should attempt to ride at the pace of the ride you are stepping up to – again so as not to disrupt the pace of the ride you are joining (as above, it is unreasonable to expect people expecting to ride at a certain pace to change their plans) and should be prepared to drop off the ride if you cannot hold the pace of the ride you are stepping up to
  • You can arrive at the station with a route for the pace you would like to ride and lead the ride so that people who ride at the same pace as you do not have to feel they are riding too slowly or too quickly

* – if someone steps forward in the interim I will update the calendar. Keep an eye on the calendar on website homepage for updates.

Juniors & Coaching
Saturday 2nd July - BMCC Juniors 1 Coaching
Start Time: 1000

Location: The Cooper School, Churchill Road, Bicester OX26 4RS

Coached by:Matt, Mike & Paul Atkins

There are three activities in place for Saturday:

  1. Matt will deliver a coaching session on mounting and dismounting, all are welcome to attend.
  2. Mike will lead a road ride to Panshill wood fishery café (16 miles return)
  3. Paul A will lead a road ride to the cafe at the Green Dragon eco farm (27 miles return)

Road Ride Info
Any rider wishing to go on a road ride needs to be at least 9 years old and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

In addition it’s a good idea to bring a waterproof top, the kit to repair a puncture and some cash to buy a piece of cake and cup of coffee.

The intention of the Green dragon ride is that it should be for the stronger/older riders, other riders that meet the criteria for road rides can do the Panshill ride.

As usual all the activities are weather dependant, if heavy rain looks likely then the road rides will be cancelled.

As always we aim to be as flexible as possible and accommodate as many people as we can but if parents/guardians could let us know of their intention to ride at any of the three activities then this would greatly assist the coaching team in the planning of these activities.

Please email coaching@bmcc2000.com before 8:00am Saturday morning to confirm your intention to come along with your junior rider and which activity they are likely to participate in.
