Club activities – week commencing 5th September 2016

Please find below details for all this week’s club activities. Saturday rides are to Green Dragon Eco Farm.

Super busy weekend this week. In addition to the normal weekend social rides there is the ‘winter’ club night on Thursday evening at Wendlebury Village Hall, the Taster+ on Saturday, the non-stop/training rides on Saturday and Sunday, junior coaching at The Cooper School re-starts on Saturday after the summer holidays and cyclo-cross on Sunday afternoon.

We need leaders for a lot of this weekend’s rides – the A, C & D rides on Saturday and all rides on Sunday so please leave a comment below, contact me via Facebook or email me at rides@bmcc2000.com if you can lead a ride.

Please also remember that if there are rides without leaders on Thursday evening they will be removed from the calendar (See the forum thread here: http://goo.gl/7mg9fY for more details).

This is the Winter Bike event discussed at last years AGM. Nick and the team from Corley’s are coming over to help us get ready for Winter. There will be several things going on:

Mudguards
We will have a Corley’s engineer fitting mudguards, we can manage 4 sets on the night. The fitting is free but you will need to buy the Guards from Corley’s – call them and explain what you are looking for they will bring what you need – fitting is for FREE. The 4 fittings are on first-come, first-served basis.

Remember, mudguards are mandatory on winter Club Rides from Nov 1st to Feb 28th.

Clothing
The key in winter riding is layering, we will have a range of different base kit to show you and explain how to cope with the Cold and Wet conditions. If this is your first Winter this is a must.

Winter Safety Checks
Nick will be doing free bike checks to ensure you are ready for Winter, he will have spares with him for anything specific please call or e-mail the shop before the event. He will of course offer technical support if you want to know which wheels or tyres are best in inclement weather.

Club Kit
I hope to have sizing kit there for you to try on prior to Simon Hudd placing the order.
