Go-Ride Club / Clubmark Status

BMCC is a British Cycling registered Go-Ride Club. Go-Ride is British Cycling’s development programme for young people. This aims to provide an enjoyable and safe way to introduce young riders to cycling for fun and to the world of cycle sport, and offers a platform to improve bike handling skills and experience a range of cycling activities. Go-Ride Club status guarantees that coaching adheres to BC’s standards, and allows access to a number of opportunities including free / reduced rate British Cycling membership: see https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/go-ride.

In conjunction with its Go-Ride status, BMCC has achieved British Cycling’s / Sport England’s Clubmark status in 2015. Clubmark accreditation recognises that the club provides a comprehensive coaching and competition programme, and observes best practice in child protection, equality, and club management. Clubmark also includes a Development Programme for young members (see ‘Club Development Plan’ tab) and BMCC’s adoption of policies which adhere to British Cycling’s standards (see ‘policies’ tab). For parents or young cyclists, therefore, Clubmark provides confidence that BMCC is safe, well-managed and able to provide expert coaching, related cycling experience and skills development, and an entry to cycling competition.
